Not Bankrupt, but boyf ran away from a mortgage 8 years ago, impact on my credit?

Hello, apologies if this is posted in wrong section, was't sure which board to post in. The short version is this, I keep receiving correspondence from Local Council asking for info of adults living in my home. My boyf has moved in ( I pay full council tax- just told them to remove discount) before I met him he went through a tough break up, and kinda hit the bottle. As a result he fell behind with his mortgage payments, the mort company duly repossesed the property and he went to stay with his parents. Now we are living together I want to know if I put him on the electoral register at my home- which I own, will this have a negative impact on my credit? Really do not want his past to damage my credit but understand its a legal obligation to provide the info on the form. I know its not good to owe money and I can't justify what he's done in the past but from what I can gather he was in a bad way and felt he had no other choice. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Unless you are financially linked with your boyfriend then his credit rating cannot effect yours.
Living at the same address is not enough for it to effect you

Hi
No problem.
Financially linked means you have joint accounts, mortgage. I believe (may be corrected here) but if he was an additional card holder on a credit card also

ah ok, phew, no joint accounts, additional card holder or anything like that, he does get his wages paid into one of my bank accounts though. I've been caught out with the joint bank account thing with an ex so would never have another one. Thanks again.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.
