Remortgage.

Is it oversimplitic to say, that now I need to remortgage, all I have to do is check a few comparision sites and pick the cheapest rate?
Any need for expensive/unimpartial mortgage advisors or time consuming visits to many banks/building societies?
It can't be, can it?

But you do need to apply, arrange for valuations, solicitors etc.
I was on the understanding that a new mortgage provider would do all the legal work for me, isn't that what any arrangement fee covers.
By applying online/telephone does save time, is there any advantage by arranging bank/building society appointmets?0 -
You may find a lender that will provide the remortgage legal fees/service but don't assume they all will.
The arrangement fee is purely that a fee to the lender for arranging the deal.
If you apply online or over the telephone the paperwork will be sent out for you to check and sign and you will need to forward all of the neccessary documentation payslips, bank statement, ID etc.
If you can do it face to face you can take all the items with you and no need to forward in the post etc.
So really it is just your preference.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Thank you, as I thought.
I just had my first quote, with The Halifax, which took over an hour from leaving work, listening to all the patter and returning home with my quote.
I just wanted to know I wasn't missing anything by getting quotes online. My plan is to get the best quote via the internet/phone and then complete face to face. Does this sound O.K.?0
