But he earns a hell of a lot more than me but has his own things to pay back, will that have to be included as well? I dont understand as its not a joint account or joint debt x0

NO...but as SL says you need to show your OH's contributions to the living expenses rent/rates etc...the receiver wont show any more interest in him from there (its just to show everyones paying their fair share)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

hmm, I'll try get a breadkdown from him.......just off to phone the bailiffs to plead with them not to come round:rolleyes:0

I think that there may be some confusion. In BR, you do not have to state the exact amount your OH earns. You have to state his contribution to the household.
So, £100 of gas should be split 50/50 - the whole amount of gas is listed and £50 in your income and £50 in your OHs. Same with rent of £750 - split 50/50 so add £375 on your income and £375 to your OHs.
If after working out the SOA and listing your OHs contribution only at say £790 but his income is actually 2790 then the other £2k is non of the ORs business and he can do what he likes with his funds.
The OR (official Receiver) insists its done this way to show that you are not taking on all the bills when there is someone who can split equally, to avoid paying any potential IPA.0 -

No. Don't plead. They are preying on your vulnerability and they know it. Its done on purpose to upset and wear you down.
Tell them to eff off - they are not welcome and they have no permission to come to nor enter your home. Be nasty.0 -

well I phoned one of the baliffs (Jacobs) and spoke to a really ncie girl, she told me not to worry and to email my SOA to them and they will sort it tomorrow.
The other one (Dukes) their number isnt working from my mobile so I'll email them as well. We're turning the lights out and shuttinf the curtains tonight! (my OH is SO understanding, esp as his mum is a mortgage advisor and his stepdad is a FD for a company!!)0 -
Hi
My 2 penneth worth - Jacobs bailiffs will be for your council tax, how long have they had this debt? You need to come to an arrangement with them, alternatively providing you don't let them in they will eventually return the debt to the council who will probably summon you to court for a means enquiry. Did the council not apply for an attachment of earnings order?
Just a couple of questions
