£6.99 in Lakeland

I've got a £6.99 refund voucher from lakeland beause they had to re-call some stuff I bought and refunded me by way of a voucher that I can only spend with them and goes out of date at the end of september.

I don't have much more money to add to the total so can anyone reccomend anything worth getting from lakeland for under £10?

It's just me and hubby in the house so kiddy sets etc are not appropriate for us.

I'll be driving over to the store which is in a town I don't often visit so it'll be a special trip and I won't bother if I don't have an idea or few of what I'm looking for.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Why did they recall the item? If there was a problem with it, should they have given you a refund instead? Driving on a special trip might cost more in petrol - which I wouldn't call money saving.

I'd ring Lakeland and ask for my money back if the item was faulty. Their customer service is usually pretty good.

I bought some kitchen spoons over a year ago and they just wrote to me to say that they have only just discovered that the spoons don't meet european standars something or other so I should stop using them. Apparently because I bought them more than a year ago they don't have to refund but they're being nice and giving me store credit. Something along those lines anyway.

The store isn't that far away, it's just in the next town over and I don't go there very often, and while we've got very little money I'm even less likely to go there.

I don't mind going on a short drive to get myself a free or nearly free gadget if there is one worth going for.

Put it on eBay. You can normally get virtually what its worth.

They do nicely presented biscuits/chocolates etc? Maybe something you can put away as a present, if you don't need any kitchen things. I can spend a fortune in Lakeland let alone £6.99

I've been checking out their enamel range as I need some new pie dishes...great for money saving "odds and sods" pie. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/F/keyword/Traditional%20Enamel

the pineapple and enamel ideas are great. My problem is that I can easily spend way more than I should in Lakeland and I'm really struggling to find something for £7 ish that isn't going to make me want to spend loads more.

The enamel dishes are winning so far. I can probably get 3 because they're cheap and on buy 2 get 3rd free.
  • I reckon they would send you what you decide to get for free if you don't want to drive over to the next town - I've found them to be really flexible. I'm sure they wouldn't charge you for postage under the circumstances.
