in Cutting tax
This is the second time i have had to fill a VAT form in, the first time my accountant did it, ive managed to work everything out except for the fuel side, i did not claim for it last time, but am going to this time. My accountant showed me how to do it ie i get the 40p a mile, but can only claim VAT on the 13p that is for fuel (100miles x 13p= £13 / 23 x 3 = £1.70) So what i need to know is do i had the £11.30 as spent, or the £13. Sorry if ive not made myself to clear. Thanx in advance if someone can help

The box 7 figure is net of tax so would include the £11.30. Is that what you meant? If it’s not important to you, don’t consume it0

Ive just phoned the help line to see whats the correct way of dealing with this issue, the lady put me right, but then asked me the engine size of the car, i told her its my wifes car and is a 2 litre, she then asked me for the engine size, i said its something like a 1985cc, she then said i can only claim the VAT on 10p of every 40p because its under 2 litre, is this right???? Thanx in advance0
