How much do you pay for ham shanks?

What's a good price for a ham shank? I noticed them in the farmer's market the other day - largeish, maybe around 1kg - for £2.95, but I've never seen them in my local supermarkets so I don't know if this is ok or overpriced. Can anyone suggest how much is a reasonable price for them? I'd probably want to boil it and then flake the meat off for a pie or quiche or something.

I've paid from around £1.45 to £2.25 - depending on size and whether or not it was a butcher's shop or a meat warehouse.
