Defrosted fish - how long will it keep?

Hello,

DH's gran gave us some freshly caught trout which she had frozen. He brought it home and put it in the freezer a few weeks ago. I took it out to defrost yesterday morning as we were going to have it last night, but plans changed and I thought it would keep until tonight.

Now, we are in the middle of painting the kitchen (behind schedule) and I can't really get in to cook anything.

My question is, how long will the trout keep for in a fridge now that it is defrosted? It seems a shame to throw it out, but it will be 10pm before we get dinner if I use it tonight!! I am pregnant too, hence why I am unsure whether we should risk it another night.

Thanks for your help!

I personally wouldn't risk it, its just not worth it, even if you had bought it, the money isn't even worth the risk.

I'm basing that on taking frozen pork steaks out of our freezer this morning for tea tomorrow afternoon.
