  • I'd say don't bother; cnet.co.uk review rates it at 5.7 out of 10! (sorry can't post link)

I have a pair of these- I would rate them higher then 5.7 out of 10 though! OK, they are not groundbreakingly amazing but they do a good job and sound wise I prefer them to my Sony (I have many different pairs of Sony)! Bose are OK, I like my Bose and they work well for me- the sound is better then my Sony ones for what I listen to.

Sony tend to have way too heavy a bass for the earphones they make which later make odd vibration noises when the earphones get clogged with dust, thus making you buy replacements every few months to lose the odd bass vibrations. They also do break quite easily- one ear side will die within about 12 months, but thats the same for all the cheaper brands IMO. They also tend to screech at higher pitched vocals. Not so good if you like to listen to anything but deep bass music or mid-range vocal music but Sony are still better then many other brands.

Pansasonic and Phillips have no real clarity in sound -there is no deep bass, and the higher pitched stuff tends too be way too screechy and muffled.

JVC and Maxwell are terrible- earphones that do not fit in ears/too large/noisy for others around you and also don't last long.

Apple are just plain noisy- not only that, they are too quiet for the listener- so you think the wearer is deaf, actually no, the earphones are just cheap and nasty and audible to everyone- not just the wearer!

I want to try Shure earphones though- they look really good and have excellent ratings, but at £100-ish they are outside of the price bracket for everyone with more sense then money!
