Payment Queried by OR

Hi
I just have a quick question that has been bugging me. The OR called a few days ago, and queried a withdrawal of £2000 in December. I paid for my wife and son (3yrs) to go abroad, as her mum was not well, and to have a it of a holiday as well. Could the OR ask her for this money back? She does not work and does not have any other income. Im worried more because the OR has confirmed that our house is in negative equity and she will be buying the Beneficial Interest. I do not want this to affect her or our chances of keeping the house. All advice will be much appreciated.

hi, the OR can ask for it back but you just have to state the truth that your wife does not work, has no income and cannot raise the funds to repay it. the OR cannot force her to repay it if she does not have it and neither can they request she take out finance or debts in order to repay it. Also it will not affect your wife buying back the beneficial interest at all, she will still be able to do this.
Hope that helps.

I wouldn't worry too much about something you did 8 months ago - you probably had no idea you would be going BR back then.
