Quickfit home ins asking for payment after br

myself and hubby went br on hte 14th apr, today out of the bblue we have had a final demand letter from quick fit home insurance asking for payment, we didnt know we owed them any money as we cancelled the ins a long time ago and havent heard anything off them previous to today, there saying its a cancellation charge. my question is can we contact the OR about this debt if it wasnt on the petition but was something we apparently owed at the time of BR or are we just going to have to pay it? thanks jen

Yep. It can be included, assuming that you cancelled before the BR.

Just inform your OR and forward the letter to them. :)

From my understanding JG even if you missed a creditor off your SOA at the time of your BR it will still fall into your BR so don't worry. Contact your OR they'll sort it out for you :)

Nope. They are talking out of their backsides.

BR covers all debts that exists at the time the bankruptcy order was made, whether they are listed on the forms or not.
