Help accessorising weird coloured dress!

I have bought this dress to go to a wedding; http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B002EKOJH4/sr=1-1/qid=1249138543/ref=sr_1_1/277-9850197-6224861?ie=UTF8&node=&m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=n%3A43009030%2Cp%5F10%3APink&page=1

and have no idea what colour to accessorise with! I thought maybe cream as I have a cream coloured shrug and hairpiece but don't really know? What about shoes, should they be cream too? Do you think I need a necklace? Help!!

Well, the photo is good inspiration. ;) I often use metallics for ''difficult'' accesories, and flesh tone shoes are more useful than anything to cut costs of accesories. (Personally, I dislike black shoes as a position of default in lieu of neutral/matched/contracsting choices, especially with bare legs)

I think cream would work nicely. I'd avoid cream shoes unless your feet are especially tiny and pretty ....light shoes (as opposed to bright shoes) can ve really unflattering: so I'd go for flesh coloured to use with other difficult dresses. If you can get a matching flower for your hair or to pin to the shrug/ handbacg(the dress colour and cream) that would work well.

I find when contrating shoes with an outfit rather than matching, then having the bag match the shoes can help. I'm more mismatched in style than matching though.

Green green green! A gorgeous grassy green (love a bit of alliteration) would look perfect with that rich fuchsia. I'd go for a green pashmina and green clutch, then maybe chunky gold accessories. I think nude shoes would look great too.

I agree, and if OP is likely to wear green friendly things again a good buy. I love green: its my favourite colour :o

As it's for a wedding, I would probably dress it up with metallics - silvery would probably be lovely, and maybe a beaded wrap or shrug. Tie rack tend to have lovely organza metallic beaded wraps which would be nice.

I got a pair of platform metallic peep toes a couple of years ago - very similar to these

and have been worn with loads of outfits (not suggesting ones that expensive!!). Also might be worth keeping an eye on ebay for shoes from brands like dune or moda in pelle - dune tend to have some really fun, funky shoes, quite often you'll find ones that people have bought for an event and worn once.

Ok, here is a colour wheel. If you follow the colour of your dress along or around you'll find shades and colours that will complement. I find it great when I have a mental block and need inspiration.

    Colour wheel.

I would also say metallics, either gold or silver would be nice, or how about turquoise?

Thanks for all your great replies! Think I'll go for either silver or green (I love green too and wear lots of green!). I ADORE those shoes although I'd probably break my neck in them!!!! Thank you so much!!
