looking for a loan

me and OH are looking for a loan for £2000 as our flat roof leaked during the bad weather and it needs repair desperatly before winter (water leakiing down the walls eekk) and i have a baby due in sept so cant really put it off to save - but we want a small loan over no more that 2 years basically somewhere we wont get screwed over or charged loads of interest or cannot pay it off early ect ect ect - ive had loans in the past when i was very young and have not done it very well so any advice would be appriciated!!!

i would have thought that for a roof leak you should be claiming off your buildings insurance for it rather than paying out for it yourself. if you dont have building insurance then if your credit is ok maybe see about a loan with your bank or if possible an overdraft.

I would be very surprised if you could claim for this on your Buildings insurance. It is likely that this will be classified as wear and tear and won't be covered. If you've experienced "storm damage" then this may be covered if you can prove that a "storm" caused the leak.

no its a flat roof and its wear and tear so not coverd unfortunatley - we wanted someting liek a load we could pay a fixed amount every month on (as you can see im due to have a baby soon so going on mat leave so drop in wages) but can also make overpayments on too so if we have the extra money we can pay it off quicker - or do you think there is a better way to do it???
