Abbey final search before completion?

Were hopefully coming towards the end of our buying/selling process. Do Abbey perform another credit search just prior to completion? I'm a little concerned as my partner has a late cc payment mark on her credit file (we were on holiday). This appeared after our mortgage was accepted.

My mortgage isnt with Abbey, but my lender did one credit check (that appeared as a generic check not the full search) prior to AIP then no further checks showed up on my credit files. I had expected a generic/soft check prior to the AIP then a full check prior to written offer - like I said, nothing shows past the generic check - prob a mistake on listing the seach. I wouldnt expect a further check after the written offer was made, unless the process was particularly lengthy or new information came to light, but Im not a mortgage advisor, they know more.

If you have received a mortgage offer I wouldn't expect Abbey to search you again, not unless you request a change to the product etc. so that it goes back to underwriters. How far down the process are you?

Well, all searches etc. Are done. All 3 parties are going in next week to sign contracts, so hopefully we could move within the next few weeks. Our buyers are first timers, and the house we are moving to has no upward chain.

So you have the mortgage offer?

It sounds like it is all in solicitors hands at present just finalising exchange and then completion?

If I was you just wouldn't give it any reason to have amendments carried out that would require it to go back to Abbey underwriting. Once the offer has been issued the underwriters have no reason to look back at the case unless something is changed, the funds are released by a different department

Sorry, yes, we've had our offer for a while now. Thanks for you advice.
