Saturday 1st August. What are you wearing today?

White rabbits and good morning all!!

Unseasonal start to the month here , nippy with torrential rain

So, off out early in old faded M&S jeans (CPW negligble now since they were a famous-names seconds shop bargain for a tenner about 10 years ago, the oldest thing in my wardrobe, down-at-heel now but wash well and still a fave), blue leather Rohde clogs (very comfy and a generously wide fit, tip for anyone needing flat work-shoe), £28 at Cheshire Oaks, and orange Per una t shirt and long white TopShop cardi.

Enjoy your Saturday lies-in, those of you lucky enough!!

    Today's ensemble consists of:
Beyond Retro A-Line skirt with a groovy Jackson Pollock-esque print (£1.99 chazza shop)
Black TopShop vest (10p jumble sale)
    Black footless tights (£1 Poundland)
Vintage denim waistcoat (ancient, been in the wardrobe forever)
Silver gladiator jellies - they sound vile but quite funky, honest! (£1 Matalan sale)
Vintage leather saddle bag (£1 chazza shop)
Huge enamel earrings in turquoise and jade (TopShop sale £3)
    Usual Indian jewellery

Have a lovely day, one and all.

We're hoping to get some work outside done today: despite rain, things have to be done. We've just crawled in for a coffee and a beak, so we've stripped and will probably put our soggy work clothes back on instead of dipping into new ones.

Here's a question: DH's work trousers are some old cords that have seen better days. They are ragged round the ankles and missing some buttons from the fly. They were once work trousers! How much time effort would you put into maintaining clothes for really rough work? I would like to replace the buttons and cut of the bottons and hem them a bit shorter (they'll be in boots/socks, so never seen but would be more comfortable I think). DH says its a bit of a waste of time and buttons.

I think it would depend on how many similar old clothes I had lined up to replace them!!

loads :( DH is a beautifully built guy, but has really muscular thighs and the inside of his legs oftn thin to a point wear they are no longer smart but still wearable for rough stuff. his cords, miraculously, aren't very worn there, but it would only take half an hour to do repairs: I reckon they have years of gardening/field work in them.:o more than some of the other trousers will have.

Morning all! Feeling a little delicate this morning... went out last night for drinks and dancing and came rolling in rather late (or early)!

    I'm currently wearing:

    Black sweats (Zara sale, £10)
Red and white striped PJ top with silver anchor motif (Primark set, £3)
Huge light blue uni hoody (Uni shop 4 years ago, £25 - I actually can't believe these official hoodies are so expensive! And that I bought one as a poor student!)
    Brown fluffy slippers

I look a treat! Cleaning the flat before getting ready so will update later. Happy August and hope you all have a lovely Saturday, despite the hideous weather!

    xx

    All dressed now and wearing:

Straight leg jeans (Topshop via eBay, £12 I think?)
Nude loose jersey t-shirt with fabric ball necklace attached (£12, Topshop)
Dusky pink long cardigan (Zara, £20)
Pink Converse Hi-Tops (Christmas present from mum... to add to my 5-strong collection of Converse shoes!)
    Stack of bangles (randomly collected)

Going out now for some retail therapy!
