    Not much to report today.

Lodged cheque so that's £150 extra into the current account. Washed car (£4) because it was absolutely filthy after being in Ireland for a while and then the long trip back.

Getting very confused by Littlewoods, I've been charged for a late minimum payment and a missed minimum payment, despite the fact I've paid at the same time each month. It looks like the payment due dates have been changed, and I certainly wasn't aware. Must speak to them soon to work out what's going on because I'm not keen on having two missed payments on my file.

    Bah.

hi and welcome to the boards. Just a friendly nudge - why did it cost £4 for a car wash when a bucket and some soap is basically free and some exercise. you've got plenty of challenges ahead and it looks like some options, and you will get lots of advice here and support but also lots of challenges on what you spend. But don't let the latter stop you, i know for certain that i need to be challenged on things cos you just get in a rut or do stuff for ease when a little effort can save you a 'fortune'

Fishguard/Pembroke is easiest for me since the parents live in the north of Wexford so only about an hour's drive from Rosslare. In saying that though, I must see if the Holyhead-Dublin or Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire works out cheaper, though I doubt it since it adds an extra hour or so onto the journey on each end = more petrol. I can do the door-to-door drive on 3/4 tank, so it's about £70 plus ferry fare. Yes I know I should fly, but if I'm going for longer than five days to a week it makes like a lot easier to have the car - I'm sure you know what it's like - south of Bray you can;t get anywhere without a car. (Yes, an exaggeration but still...)

On my drive back from Fishguard this time I stopped at one motorway services, but only for a quick stretch-of-the-legs. I did go off the main road somewhere in South Wales before joining the M4 in desperate search for a loo and something to drink.

Lemon Tree - thanks for the nudging! I might start posting my daily expenses on here for closer scrutiny, might shame me into doing something!

Littlewoods changes the payment date every month because the statement is printed every 28 days not monthly. When you logged into your online account it will show your next statment date so that you can keep track of your next payments.

    Good luck

And good old Dublin Bus with their mad timetables which mean nothing, especially when you're ages away from where the bus route starts and you're like "Well, it left Cherrywood at this time, and it takes about 15 minutes to get here, but then sometimes it's early and sometimes it's late and....".

Ah, that's slightly annoying. Never knew that, especially since I've had no problems before, paying at the start of the month each time. Hmmm.

Haha, yes, a lot of experience.

It's the one thing I don't miss about Ireland.
