Come on. They are just numbers on a computer screen. Sentiment drives us all and those big numbers are just helping to make us feel all warm and fuzzy again. Who cares about the debt, after all we have only recently paid off our debt for World War 2 and I can’t say I have ever noticed it being a problem. The debt will just be lost, written off and just the warm fuzzy feeling will be left. After all it’s what the banks are doing right now.

Your pension fund may be depending on a lot of that debt being repaid, or at least the interest being honoured! Be careful what you wish for ;)

Ha you're wrong, Brown has solved the problem by consolidating his debts into a £1,227bn loan. We don't have to worry about paying it back until after the next election.

Honestly, based on what the media are saying right now, with what he has pulled off with this reported recovery he could eat small children and still get voted back in.

So when you retire, you will presumably sell your house to fund your living expenses. Then where will you live?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Surely you have better thing to do with your time on a Saturday but to delibrately stir up the MSE masses with nonsensical debate.

Suggest you get out more and give your time to helping the more unfortunate in our society.

As far the media is concerned Mr Brown is captaining little more than the Titanic. After steering the UK straight into an iceberg.

History won't be kind to Mr Brown. As his legacy will leave scars that will a take generation to heal.

Most of what I have posted has some sarcasm attached. However, it will have to be the 2nd largest swing of all time for the cons to get in and also the media are painting a very chippr picture of the world right now. Makes you wonder.
