Partial Settlements - affect credit file?

First off, Hi to everyone. I have long been a reader of this great forum but have only just signed up to post.
My wife and I have been working our nuts off for the last 3 years to clear our debts and have made progress but they are so significant there are potentially many years ahead. All are managed through the CCCS currently
The main reason for posting is that we have a potential opportunity to come by a lump sum of money (without using shotguns/crime etc) and make an offer to our creditors and try and wipe it out forever. We are talking 30-50% offers of settlement
If they all accept how do we ensure our credit file gets updated and what information goes on them once we 'settle and close' our accounts with these people? Can we insist that they update our file as 'settled' or will they mark it as only partially settled
Sorry i've gone on a bit, hope someone can advise
