mortgage application....

Options
I have applied for a mortgage with Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank and went through the application etc, was advised that I would be credit scored during the application which was fine, I've checked my credit report & the search shows.

I was advised that the details will now go to the underwriters and I should hear something within the next couple of days,

prior to going through the application I had forwarded the branch a copy of my wage slips & bank statements so I think they have all the info they need but does anyone know how this works as I thought I would have been advised of any AIP or something but I just went through the application and was advised I would hear back, does this sound normal or should I be worried..........

any help would be gratefully received.......

    Normal:)

The underwriters will assess the application along with the additional information that you have sent through and then probably instruct the valuation, have you had to pay anything for this?

hi there, thanks for your quick reply.......
I have not paid anything just called them and asked for an appointment to speak to someone about a FTB mortgage & was given an appointment date for when an advisor would call me and was advised to forward my wage slips & bank statements prior to the telephone call.
during the call I was advised that we would do the application & within this time I would be credit scored etc.
at the end of the call I was advised that I would be sent documents to sign to confirm everything along with a Key Facts Illustration and details of their regulators etc.
I received an email from them the following day to say that the docs are on their way which everything seems to be ok but I'm just worried as I thought that when they scored me they would then have advised if I was ok for the AIP or not but I was just advised that the U/writers will deal with this now & be back within a couple of days....

    is this normal practice then?....

Yeah normal, not all lenders do an official agreement in principal. If they credit scored you during the application process and then said it had gone to the underwriters then I wouldn't worry too much. Make sure you check the documentaton that comes through and if correct sign and get the paperwork back to them asap.

The underwriters will assess the credit score and accompanying docs in the meantime.

There is nothing in your credit history that you are worried about is there?
