It matters not if you try and fail,
And fail, and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, And fail to try again.
  • When you do get one, don't forget to soak it in water before you use it - every time; otherwise it'll crack.

My mum has one she still uses sometimes, but you have to prepare well in advance :)

    Maybe so. But ... why?
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Pen, seems it wasn't so cheep, in the end, anyway. I'd say it was actually pretty deer. ;)

  • I've got one which I occasionally use sometimes. It makes a chicken very tender and juicy with lovely juice for gravy. Mine came from Habitat in the 1970s and the only problem with it is that the bottom is rounded as well as the top so it wobbles about when you put it in the oven and is a bit tricky to get in and out when hot. I think the modern ones have flatter bottoms which would be safer and easier. Mine had a recipe leaflet which said you could do pork and other joints in it too, tho I never have. I have cooking instructions somewhere if you'd like them because I have seen a lot of variation in how people are told to use them - ranging from it taking 3 hrs to 1.5 to cook a 3 lb chuck - (at v high temperature) which makes it costly in oven time at that heat.
