Now I have just revived my July pay slip and noticed the 5 days holiday I took in June have been deducted are the aloud to do this, and if they are when am I supposed to get that 5 days pay?

Most places I have worked you're not entitled to any holiday pay until you have been there at least 3 months and then it's only for 1/4 of the days you are entitled to in the year (since 3 months is a quarter of the year)

What did the wages dept say when you called them up about it?

Although you accrue holiday from day one, many employers will not pay the full rate until you have worked long enough to accrue rights to the 3 weeks you want. This is because some employees leave before they have accrued enough holiday to cover what they have been paid for and the employer never gets the money back.
Strictly you are only entitled to one twelth of your entitlement for each month of employment. You need to just check that they will refund your wages as you accrue more entitlement.

I suspect they are allowing you the time, but as unpaid rather than paid. Have you got a contract at all?

All they did was to authorise that you could have that time off.

If you had not accrued holiday to cover that time (and you wouldn't have done) then you have no entitlement to have that holiday paid.

You only ever get paid for holiday if you have accrued the days to cover it. Otherwise, it's unpaid - unless your employer agrees, voluntarily, to pay it.

Did you get paid for holiday accrued, but not taken, when you left your previous job?

I'm guessing though that you had accrued holiday in your last job - otherwise, you wouldn't have booked this time off. When you left that job, presumably they paid you for this holiday, which you had accrued and not taken - so you have already been paid for it.
