HOME owners received some much-needed cheer yesterday as analysts predicted Britain could be on the brink of another house price boom.

As the media continue to ramp up the property market for the general public (yes 99.9% of population are not MSE/HPC sados) it has to be good for sentiment - the biggest driver of the market.

House prices have risen every month since February, which is 5 months in a row, not 3 months.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

THE INDEPENDENT
Outlook First the stock market and now property is going on a bit of a run too. It's difficult to remember when we had two such bullish reports on housing – yesterday's mortgage approval figures and Tuesday's house price rises from the Land Registry – in the space of just two days.

Their reporting on the seasonal adjusted index, not nominal prices:wall:

I don't disagree. I'm sure that article will get a lot of people today out there and into the action of starting to look to buy.
Can't believe it actually made front page headline though. That's some serious ramping.
However, I will say, without cutting and pasting that massive news article list from the last recession, this isn't much different to what happened then. Infact, it's the same.
How long can ramping last is the question. I personally didnt think it could last this long but have been proven wrong. But it's shelf life is limited.0 -

It is different, very different infact - you should not compare this recession to the 90s.0 -

Yes I know, but it's still silly.
Either a house costs more or it doesn't..... You're not going to pay less because an index was seasonally adjusted.
The press should be reporting the facts, that prices have now risen for 5 consecutive months, and that a house is now £11K, or 7.5% higher, than it was in February.
We already know the bears will miss the bottom as we'll be years into a recovery before they realise it isn't a bull trap. Theres no reason the media should be understating the recovery, and misleading others as well.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
