:eek:OMG. Hope it doesn't get too bad. Tamiflu is supposed to have unpleasant side effects or so im told. I hope their immune system is strong enough to fight it whatever it is they have.0 -

Well from what i've heard about people taking tamiflu is that the side effects are worse than the flu itself e.g. nightmares, depression, cold sweats, nausea etc. I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but most people seem to say this, especially the nausea and nightmares. I hope the same doesn't happen to your family though.
P.S Sorry didn't mean to scare you, im sure they'll be fine0 -

Orange, I've had a look through my codes/wrappers but nothing here. Does anyone have a ready-reckoner to say what codes are what variety? If so I can do a list for my purse and look when I'm in the supermarkets. Easter, I had swine flu earlier in August. I had to call my GP aswell as doing the NHS wesite thingy because I have a compromised immune system and my GP said if I didn't have immune problems he would advise against taking it as swine flu is generally a really mild flu and Tamiflu has side effects AND only reduces symptoms by a day rather than relieving them. It may be worth calling your GP to see if he reccommends them all using it.
I had no nausea just a really bad stomach. But I had that from the flu even before I started on the Tamiflu. But I did have bad dreams the whole time I was on it.
I hope they get better fast and that you avoid it.

The man I sit next to at football and his 10yr old son had swine flu in August. Apart from him saying he had never felt so ill in his life he also said his son didn't react well to Tamiflu I don't know in which way.
My GP & I always have a chat about all sorts when I go and see him. He said Tamiflu isn't a cure just as befff says relieves them a bit, like these general cold & flu things.
My friend who is a nurse isn't very complimentary about Tamiflu either.
i think if I get it I'll just ride it out but then again I'm fairly healthy apart from a bit of a cough I always get in the autumn.
Hope the family all get well soon. Stock up on the biscuits in case you get it and no one can go out for food0
