30/07: Boots Expert Glitch (Advice)

Other posters have noted the Boots Expert Glitch.
I would like to expand upon their posts, and show:
How you can blag the Boots Expert Glitch when the till says no:
Currently get an ACM voucher (worth £3.98) for a free Expert Emergency Anti-Blemish Gel when you buy another item from a specified range, e.g. Expert Anti-Redness Serum.
The ACM vouchers are for the benefit of Boots AC holders. Unless otherwise specified in a disclaimer that the ACM voucher cannot be used in conjunction with another offer, then the voucher can be used over and above other offers made available to the general public.
The till bleeped and refused to put the 2 for £5 offer and the free Anti-Blemish Gel offer together.
The key here to argue is that the Expert Emergency Anti-Blemish Gel voucher does not have this disclaimer, and that the two offers are therefore acceptable to combine for the Boots AC holder.
If the SA refuses to budge, ask to speak to a Manager. Explain that you have already spoken with Head Office, and for him/her to feel free to contact Boots Customer Services.
Result:
Till receipt extract
Bts Ex Ab Red Ser £4.98
Bts Ex Ab Gel £3.98
SAVING £3.96 NOW £5.00
TOTAL £5.00
BOOTS COUPON £3.98
TOTAL TO PAY £1.02
With this transaction you received:
x Earn UK P5 Skin
Points received 20
ACM often gives 3 x voucher, so if used max available, would get £26.88 worth of products (if counting original price), 60 points, and 3 x £5 Facial Skincare Voucher (See SandraScarlett’s thread on how to potentially max out use of these vouchers – depending on whether you get an ACM 500 points coupon)
Also, if there are no Expert Emergency Anti-Blemish Gel products left on shelf, ask an SA to check warehouse. The SA I asked brought out box loads and filled a previously empty shelf (bearing a temporarily O/O/S notice). Therefore, I ensured plenty of stock available for my fellow MSE’rs for them also to benefit from the deals.
Btw, did manage to buy Olay Anti-Wrinkle Daily Moisture Fluid for £4.00 (but didn’t get 500 pt ACM coupon – a bit of pot luck, I’m afraid)

Thanks for this post Tibbs. I've had a lot of success with this glitch (thanks to mdhughes) and there are lots more combinations to try.
Sorry I can't do the linkie thingy, but in this post mdhughes gives a great explanation.
I printed it out and took it shopping with me!

Hope others have success too.

Thanks for the info. Does "In conjuction with any other offer" include reduced items?
I have an ACM for designer prescription sunglasses, which are currently on sale in store.0 -

Again, unless the voucher specifies cannot be used on reduced items, you could argue the point that the voucher should be allowed to be used over and above the specific offer.
Blagging a bargain is all about confidence, and knowing exactly what the terms and conditions are for a specific promotion.
Sometimes you can manage to get round an SA, a manager, or even circumvent a till bleep, but it really depends on things that we often cannot see, like a change in wind direction, how the SA was treated previously whether by a customer or relationship break up, or even things we can see - like whether it's a full moon, etc.
Trying to predict how a bargain blag will go is near impossible. I suggest you try to blag at every opportunity. If the answer is no at one point, the wind direction might change in your favour, when you return to the store and another person might say the magical yes - and from there you can enter the yippeekaihey feeling of the 'blag in the bag' and retain that skip in your step for the rest of the day - lol.
Essentially, if at first you don't succeed - try, try again.Invented tradition: Couponology

Cally120, this is where sheer determination comes in. I suggest you follow my advice in the above post again. Try it with another SA, or another store, if you can. Most importantly, don't give up. It does work - with a little persistence and gusto.Invented tradition: Couponology

.................... and determination! I was actually Quite Pleased to see a little spot in my hairline, as I could use my Emergency Gel freely! And it worked!
I also did The Glitch with the Foamy Cleanser, which is very nice! One day to go to try this.

Sandra,
Thank goodness. You've restored my faith in this site. I've been faced with crank posters on other threads (not this one, though - thankfully).
Thank you once again for normality.
Tibbs.
What about the Foamy Cleanser? I must have missed that one.Invented tradition: Couponology

Hi just to let you know that if you recently had a mailing from the parenting club and normally just keep the vouchers and ditch the rest it may be worth keeping the leaflet part in your purse. The reason being it actually encourages you to combine vouchers. I quote "Exclusive coupons, used together, our coupons, double points and in-store offers soon add up" . So if you ever need to stand your ground it may come in handy, hth.
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Thanks Need a break, but I'm beginning to wonder the point of me posting anything else on this website. Just too fed up with the abuse on other threads. You try to help people, but instead of receiving thanks, all you get is abuse.
I've had enough.
