First Month nerves!!!

Hi all

Finally went BR on 1st July 2009 and had OR interview on phone ten days later- exhausted but got through it.

Now coming up to the end of first month i am starting to get the jitters, not sure why, all sorts of things jumping in to my head.
Is this normal?
During interview OR stated no need for IPA as on benefits and wife very ill. OR asked for copy of tenancy agreement but stated (having asked him 3 times) that he had no need to contact landlord due to nature of tenancy?
He wanted copy of cccs DMP papers and last tax return.

My accountant has told me OR asked for them to confirm my accountants and send last copy of accounts.Business ceased trading 9 months previous to BR and had made a loss!

What happens now? Will i hear from the OR?
Will i need 2nd interview.
Should i contact OR to ask what happens next? DO NOT want to wake sleeping lion!

If anyone can share their knowledge and experience i would appreciate it, just need to stop the worrying - have been doing that for too long .

many thanks

Hi and welcome oldernotwiser. You probably won't have any more contact with OR unless they need more info. I definitely wouldn't contact them unless you need something. Well done on making it through the first month (well tomorrow is last day of your first month!) only 11 more to go unless you get early discharge.

Just concentrate on getting on with your lives and the time will be up before you know it.

    Hiya :D

well done for making it to your first month, now breath all is well.

you dont need ot do anything except get on with your life, look after yourself and your wife.
Unless your circumstances change then you dont need to get in touch, its highly probable you wont hear from them again unless they need to clarify something.

I have been bankrupt since April (goodness nearly 4 months time flies) and now the house is gone i havent heard a peep.

so now relax you have done the hard part

  • Thanks for all the replies.

One of the biggest problems is that after years of worry it has probably become a habit. Along the lines of "what next"!

My next hurdle is regarding my wifes position. Due to mortgage shortfall after repossession my wife will need to go BR - do not know how to approach this due to my wifes health position, she has suffered a complete breakdown due to all the stress at the end of 08 and reached the point of ending it all. She is not in any state to complete paperwork of attend court let alone the idea or talking to OR. Is there any way i can represent her/act on her behalf? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

    thanks again

    Hiya,

im really not sure what you can do on her bahalf. of course you could fill in all the forms etc. hopefully others may be able to give you more advice.

Im really sorry your wife is in such a bad way, i went to hell and back last year with a nervous breakdown and almost ended it. Im very glad i didnt and although i still have bad days, the releif of the bankruptcy and removal of that pressure really helped me get back on my feet. I really hope your wife can begin to find her way back too,.

You have had such alot to deal with and hope you are getting good support.

all i can offer is support and a hug

Thanks for the support, just trying to take one day at a time. It has all been such a shock losing so much that we had worked for so long to achieve together.
Only glad that daughter has grown up and left home so that at least we are responsible for a roof over her head so to speak. Just me the wife and my daft as a brush dog!

    thanks
