CSA tribunal appeal......how long???

I am a mother with equal shared care of my children with my ex-husband. The govt agencies can't deal with equal shared care so my ex husband & his new partner lied to child benefit office so I was classed as a NRP although my children live with me at least half of their time. I am currently both paying my ex husband and supporting my children at home!! The agencies will not corroborate the fraudulent evidence he provided and I am appealing the decision - so much for being honest on these forms, that was a real learning experience. I have been waiting over 13 months for a tribunal appeal. Has anyone else had any experience of this process? I can't seem to speak to a human being with a brain at either the child support agency or the child benefit office

I suspect you have not lodged an appeal with the Tribunal Service if you been waiting 13 months. Did you fill a appeal form in and send it to central appeals in Blackpool.

Thank you for your reply - its a lonely world dealing with the CSA! I had confirmation from Central Appeals in Blackpool on 27th August 2008 and am still waiting for a hearing date. I guess from your post that this is an unusually long wait?

That is a long time to wait. I suspect over the last year they have written to you, you have not recieved the corrispondance and the appeal has been struck out. or you opted for a paper hearing and the case has been heard on paper only. I could be wrong but 13 weeks is the norm. speak to Central appeals in Blackpool and ask them which Appeals administration office they sent your appeal to . ie Liverpool Newcastle birmingham Sutton Cardiff or Glasgow. once you find out where it has gone speak to the admin centre direct.

We applied for Appeal in Jan 2009, CSA Appeals forwarded our case to Tribunal, and at moment CSA were due to submit their evidence to Tribunal on June 5th , they submitted on July 6th - over a month late, would we expect any other?????????

So, we just submitted our evidence today, and Judge wrote telling us to expect a timeline of setting hearing date approx 3 weeks after our submission, but suppose depends how busy Tribunal Service are as to how long we wait for hearing date. CSA seem to think somet ime in Sept, if that is case, we will have waited 9 months from lodging appeal to getting before Judge at Tribunal

Well, maybe this is a bit of justice for fathers who are all too often hounded by their venomous ex wives looking for extra cash? My ex wife has hounded, harrassed, intimidated and abused me for the past 13 years since we divorced. I paid the mortgage every month, paid money towards my children and yet now, because I wouldnt give her the full proceeds from the sale of our ex matrimonial house, shes got the CSA chasing me telling them all manner of lies and false representations. CSA via her, say they want £16,500 from me in back money! When I was paying the mortgage and life assurance every month and money to the kids, she was shacked up with a second hand washing machine seller who ws living in the house I was paying for AND she was claiming the full benefits (including the full mortgage money as it was interest only payment mortgage). Yet the tribunal in my appeal is simply not interested in any of this. She bleats she's hard done by and I haven't paid a penny and its all lies! I've paid thousands, school trips, laptops, holiday moneys etc., even £5,500 to stop the house being reposessed cos she wasn't paying the (double amount in her hand) mortgage money!! BUT because it was paid direct to the kids and not her, CSA say its irelevent and doesn't count.

The CSAin my situation is simply a money grabbing service for embittered ex wives and girlfriends who simply cannot move on and have an almost maniacal obsession with bankrupting and harrassing caring fathers who love, support financially and maintain contact, with their children. They do not listen to the facts and whatever the scheming, lying vindictive ex wife says, they believe. This is definitely wrong and obscene.

They are also there for those whose ex's have decided that they no longer want to support the children that they helped to bring into this world, and who pay absolutely nothing to the PWC for the upkeep of their children.

The CSA is not fit for purpose, is incompetant and a disgace, that is a fairly genunie consensus.

They do a lot of things wrong, causing alot of distress and bitterness.

But I do love to hear cases where they have managed to extract money from those who purposfully fail to pay up!

I used to think I would never get any money from my ex via the CSA - after much chasing and much complaining they finally got their act together. He paid up the arrears of 25k owed to me - he is due back in court again next month regarding the final 2k. I have not chased the final bit as I'm not bothered because I got most of it but if I get it then great!!!! He really tried hard to lie his way out of paying anything - but I fought hard and won in the end. He hates me with a passion - do I care? He walked away and refused to acknowledge his own daughter so I couldn't care less what he thinks of me - he made his choices and blames me for the outcome. Hey ho - !!!!!! happens!!!

Kellogs, I also totally agree with you. However, why let the ex-wives who truly do want to ruin our lives get away with it too. It works both ways.
