EDIT: you haven't been offered a loan at all. They have simply asked you to give them some of your spare cash.0 -
I have been offered a loan by them - they want £55 to proceed - AVOID THEM!!!! - They will charge this fee purely to pass your details on to other companies and then you having to apply again, with NO guarentees of acceptance.0

I had got accepted for a £2,000 loan recently with went worth direct, and the first thing they say is ( you have been accepted for a loan, we have the funds ready and waiting for you if you want to go ahead with this, but before we can send your documents you will need to pay us a fee of £59.
So i said, well actually i have seen your company on a website and the reviews on your loan company is not recomended by customers, many had said not to bother as when we pay your £59 fee, we dont here from you again
Then they just give you aload of ( oh we can assure you we do send out your loan payment after the fee is payed, nor will we ask for a guarnator.
So then i replied well i will have a good think about it, but i can't promise i will go with your company after what i have read.
Sorry bye0 -
Yes! Stay clear of them. They are not loan providers, they are brokers who charge an upfront fee for 'administration' costs, and the APR is high. Your bank are the best loans provider.0

Yes, I agree with "Finance".
Yesterday I got a letter from Wentworth saying my application for £5,000 had been accepted, just need the £49 fee, blah blah.
The first thing that confused me was - how can they accept me by just having my name and address? I didn't provide any details about my money, my credit history or anything. No loan company would give you money without doing a credit check first!
The second confusing thing obviously being the £49. Why am I being asked to pay money to a loan company? It's me who wants the money!
Thinking this to be dodgy, I Googled the company, and sure enough, pages and pages of people saying to avoid this company. They are a broker, not a loan company. They tell you you have been "accepted", then when you pay the money they pass your details onto other loan companies. Unless your history is good, there is a high chance you wont even see any money. So the £49 is a total waste.
Today my bank accepted me for the loan I applied for. Very pleasing, and obviously they didn't want any money up front. And cos they are my bank, I know I can go in at anytime I need in case I need to speak to someone.
Definitely recommend going through your bank, it's the quickest and safest way to borrow money
