help needed ... no apricot jam and making DD's birthday cake

I hope one of you lovely people out there can help me.;) Can you substitute apricot jam with shredless marmalade to stick roll on icing onto a birthday cake. It is DD 2nd birthday tomorrow and I am making a birthday cake for the first time ever and now realise I am missing the jam.:eek:
