Anyone think it's worth me complaining to the ombudsmen about this, should I write to RBS first?

The ombudsman will ask you if you have gone through the RBS 'complaints procedure' before he will act on your behalf, Kudox.

I would, certainly, include the fact that you intend to take this matter up with the Financial Ombudsman in any letter that you write to RBS.

I certainly think, however, that you would, at this stage, be perfectly entitled to report RBS to Trading Standards.

Ok Rog thanks I will certainly do that and follow the correct procedures regarding Ombudsman.

Initially, yes, Kudox. They may tell you to contact 'Consumer Direct' - sometimes you need to be a bit 'insistent'.
