Most supermarkets do this with Rathbones, (and Kingsmill), it's the only way they can shift it, no one would pay full price for the muck they describe as bread!

Why do supermarkets do this type of promotion instead of just halving the price? Not everyone has room or need for two of a product!

    No I don't :D
It is each to their own, but despite the fact that it still sells, I don't personally know anyone who likes it, more like dislikes with a vengeance, but someone somewhere will eat anything, otherwise how would all the rubbish shops sell somethings only loosely described as food? And surely you must have bought something from somewhere thinking "how can people buy this", yet those shops keep going:beer:

I bought the split tin loaf for 50p on Sinday and it was still fresh enough to have today's sandwiches out of. Usually it's rock hard after a day so well done Morrisons! ;)

Rathbones is just a brand name owned by Morrisons, just like all those bogus "brands" that Tesco own, like "Sun Grown" and "Country Kitchen" - it's just a cynical way of making their own brand look like a premium brand.

Best thing to do with Rathbones is to bog it off.

it used to be a brand in its own right, its been going for years, always virtually identical packaging to warburtons and about 30% cheaper

it was 50p a loaf in morrisons today, own brand or not thats a lot of very nice bread for 50p, morrisons actual own brand is 70 odd, at 50p a throw its effectively betterbuy price

which suits me down to the ground :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)
