some of you may remember my post from this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1796541
with regards to my bonus from work
heres a snippet so you know which part to read (hijacked thread)
(I spoke to the OR today regarding my one off TAXABLE £150 bonus and my car brakes situation.
She immediately said i couldn't keep it, she told me to 'get a lift' until i had saved some money up as they had allowed £25 a month for the car ( i only went BR 3 weeks ago so ive not really had chance to save up the money  ). I not usually an awkward person but its going to be quite difficult to get a 'lift' for a 50 mile round trip a day in the remote area i live!
:mad::mad:
Her next suggestion was to get my mum to pay as she owns the car, i explained that she could'nt afford it and this had led to huge arguments with my mum, as why should she 'be expected to pay for repairs to a car that was only originally going to be used for 20 miles a week not 350 plus!' (my mums words)
she then said that i shouldn't use the car, which led back to square 1, as i couldnt get to work. so stale mate. I said if i had the work done i would send in the receipt as proof too!
So now should I (a) keep on driving it - but slow cause the brakes are bad, (b) not go to work (c) take the money and see if i can get a one way ticket outta here
:rotfl:
Actually I feel quite miserable, i dont want to spent the money on a holiday or clothes, drinking, smoking, gambling, drugs, loose women or something frivolous .
ohhhhhh i dont know what to do
p.s how much will be left out of the £150 after tax - currently i get £897 net
and if i do have to give the £150 up how do i pay it to them??
anyway when my creditos get £2 each from the £150 i'll probably be jobless or in a ditch!)
Any way heard back off the OR. My bonus is actaully £134.78 (pro rata:rolleyes:)
so after tax its about £120- something.
OR has let me keep £57.50 for the brakes, which wont even cover half the parts never mind the labour costs,.
I think this is a bit mean, they know i have no access to credit or any other money (plus ive only been paid once from work since BR, playing catch up still), and my surplus is £30. I dont know what to do? if i appeal it might p!ss them off and they may say to me that all the money will be taken in to account
mum is still being a c0w and moaning about the car

yeah the parts are around the £105 mark, plus fitting on top0 -
No, I liked being anonymous and only spoke to them a couple of times. My motto is no news is good news. Maybe you should have just spent the money on the brakes and not mentioned the bonus.

Write a letter addressed to the OR and set out everything to him/her as you did in your first post and make sure you point out if you do not have a car then you can't work as there is no bus service and taxi's would be prohibitive and there is no one who lives near you who goes in your direction.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
