I would recommend Eucerin Q10 Wrinkle Cream - You can get it from Boots but it's £17 I normally get mine off ebay for about £7. I had and sometimes still get eczema too and it's brilliant because it's really moisturising but it's also for sensitive skin but at the same time will not clog pores and cause spots.

There is also a temporary wrinkle filler you can get called Tri-aktiline - I personally haven't tried it but I am going to recently based on some good reviews I have seen on it. They sell that in Boots too but I bet can get it on ebay half the price.

Good stuff, is this what your referring to?

Incidentally does this product reduce the appearance wrinkles/lines currently appearing?

I use the No7 Protect and Perfect Serum.. it's in a largish bottle like the No 7 foundations and has a lovely texture to it.

I definitely feel since I have been using it, my lines look better.. but then I use it daily.

I noticed in Marie Claire magazine yesterday though, Boots have got another one exclusive to them and it's the same principle.. not sure on price, and not sure I like the packaging... so I will stick to the one I already use :)

As one who has recently tried a few creams and I also have sensitive skin I can recommend the protect and perfect serum from No7 (as previously recommended), but as someone else said, the Aldi version seems just as good for about 1/3 of the price.. Also, Olay Regenerist range seems very effective or look for anything with collagen in it. Be diligent. All of the creams will make your skin feel instantly softer, but it's regular use that makes a difference. It's also a good idea to exfoliate first to help the cream do its work on fresh skin. If you feel like splashing out a bit, Elemis tri-enzyme facial wash is brilliant as an exfoliator.
    Hope this helps!

I've used moisturiser since the day I was born, that the joys of excema, I was simply hoping there would be a cream available the would reduce the look of the wrinkles/lines a little.

Fair enough, I have eczema too so I can empathise. I didn't mean to appear harsh, i'm not saying all moisturisers are crap, just a lot of them do nothing more than the cheaper ones despite their pseudo science words and claims. (Everyone has seen the indecipherable ingredients on adverts major brands say make their product better) They moisturise just like all moisturisers. The cosmetic industy makes a fortune from praying on peoples vulnerabilities with spurious claims.

If anyone is at all interested read Bad Science by Ben Goldacre pg 22-27. It explains in simple terms about how moisturisers actually work .

If they make you feel better then great, thats all that really matters, i just think its better to be informed and after all this is a money saving site...

Perhaps you could use something to hide the wrinkles rather than trying to get rid of them if its a confidence boost you're after?

There is more to anti-ageing creams than just moisturising.

Drinking water and slathering your face with any kind of oil or fat will keep it moisturised, we know that!

(PS will someone advise how to 'hide wrinkles", other than a back-to-front balaclava?)

...oh the curse of having excema.

I've had full-body eczema for over 50 years my friend. How to get rid of wrinkles? I now use poly-filler. Because I'm worth it! ;)
But seriously, just use a moisturiser every day. Particularly after getting out of the bath/shower. 'Simple' are good, but for years I've used mainly Vaseline Intensive Care. For the body, I often use one in a big white tub from Boots (sorry, can't remember the name - I'll post it later). The thing is for you to try several and find what suits you. A lot of them are perfumed and really irritate my skin e.g. Nivea etc. I assume you have some form of hydro-cortisone? I'm sure you already know not to put that on your face?
As has been said, there are a lot of products out there with wild claims (including eczema 'cures') but they are very expensive and probably no better than the ones that I've recommended. Also, these expensive ones tend to be in very small containers, which wouldn't be enough for me to do one hand let alone the whole body! Good luck. Keep moisturising! :)

edit: the cream I get from Boots is called Aqueous Cream (or is it ointment? :)). Ask for it at the Chemist counter.

    Is this the cream?

I have read some articles about this cream and it is very highly recommended, how often would I need to use both the day and night cream, is it daily or weekly?
  • yup, I like the aldi stuff - i would go and buy just one pot first (day or night) and see how you get on - if you have excema some products may irrritate your skin I think...

    I opted for your suggestion.

Thanks very much to all who helped on this issue.
