Hi Jackie, and welcome to MSE!
Spend a bit of time mooching about the boards, and you will see that you are not alone in all of this - there is a whole load of information and support available here - all for the taking!
While you are waiting for benefits etc to get sorted, head over to the "up your income" board, and see if there is anything there that you can fit into your own daily routine - whether daily clicks, or reviews, or a bit of mystery shopping.....the extra income would come in handy.
Check out the freebies board too - free cinema tickets, cosmetics, samples of chocolate......again, anything you can get for free helps your budget go that little bit further.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Oh, and definitely visit "moneysaving old style" - they are fab at making wonderful meals out of nothing, so your grocery bill will come down even more than you ever think it can!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi,
My advice as a landlord is for you to immediately talk to your landlord. Tell them what is going on, that you've applied for benefit, when you expect to hear - be very realistic. Don't bury your head and ignore them hoping they won't notice. They will but if you are proactive and offer realistic timescales and a solution then they are more likely to be empathetic and listen.
When you've talked to them, it's a great idea to back up the conversation in writing AND keep them updated exactly as and when you promised.
With the Council here the rule seems to be who ever yells loudest gets heard. I'd suggest you keep phoning to see where your claim is as you are facing the possibility of eviction if you can't pay your rent.
I hope that's of some help.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Welcome to the boards! Looks like you are better than you think at computers, you've started a diary.
This is the best place, information about everything, lots of laughs and new friends to be made. Keep posting!
