CCJ - when does the 6yrs start from?
I defaulted in August 04 and i ended up with a ccj which was settled in June 06.
I'm wondering does the ccj start from the date it was issued at northampton court - that date doesn't appear to show on the experian report. I'm just soo frustrated - i only defaulted on £950 and it seems to be going on for yrs and yrs.

I think the 6 years starts from date of default or date the CCJ was issued.

i've just done a bit of digging and you're right. But, my file doesn't say when it was issued just when i defaulted the loan and when i settled it.
if i defaulted in aug 04 i'm hoping it was around oct 04 i got the ccj as that will mean i'm approaching the 5yr mark.0 -

Just as a point of interest, try and consider the other side of the coin too, imagine you were the one who had to recover a debt by going to the lengths of a CCJ, and then think about what you'd like to know about someone's credit management habits if you were another lender. Taking that into account, how long is "long enough"?If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
i've edited the offending sentence from my post - any chance you could too just to avoid you know what:rolleyes:
i just checked my experian record and the date of judgement is under the public record heading and it was issued on 13/04/05 so i'm kinda getting there.0
