We were told that we MUST pay maintenance via bank account, as we had terrible experiences when CSA had anything to do with bank account we said no! NRP (my hubs) is self-employed so they cannot get DEO.
We asked if they could send us Giro slips for payment over counter at bank/Post Office, they told us a ddefinite NO, so hubs documented , and included this to MP that he was happy to pay, but just not by means they wanted (S/O or D/D) due to past bad experiences.
Amazingly enough we were given CSA account no/sort code and reference for payment over counter at Barclays bank and then couple weeks later Giro pay in slips arrived - very strange - do not be bullied by these half-wits0 -
But , sorry only just read your thread properly, they can/probably will just go ahead at some point and get another DEO from your new employer if you have paid DEO from old employer!
It may take them some time to catch up and sort this out, but, this is their chosen method of payment at present, you can always ask about other methods, but they are not flexible in the slightest!0 -
Does sound odd so will seek advice would rather now pay by debit to budget more easily and of course my full net wage gets deposited in the bank
Thanks

I am afraid it does not matter. DEO's are virtually impossible to get lifted, even when they are wrongly applied. As a " customer " who had a DEO in place with your previous employer you are legally obligated to inform the CSA of your new employee.0 -
Well I am still working for the same employer just doing more hours but a different post..
I guess its not possible to change it, I have informed them but I got we need evidence of earnings etc....
Thanks

In 1999, I initially paid by voluntary DEO as my bank account was a mess at the time. About 3 years ago, I requested to pay by standing order instead of DEO. This was accepted by the CSA without any hassle & I've been paying by this method ever since.
Do NOT set up a direct debit with the CSA as this gives them more control over what they can take out of your account.
Put your request in writing & keep copies of any correspondence between you both. That way, it will be more difficult for them to fob you off with inaccurate information & then deny it.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Seems I need to find out more before I get my hopes up... but if I can do a standing order then it would help.
Thanks

The bold is the key here !
Even then there have been some threads where the CSA have refused to change payment method from a voluntary DEO.
Totally agree about the direct debit though, standing order is the way to go with the incompetent muppets.0 -
My husband had a DEO, when he changed jobs it was lifted and he now pays by direct debit....might be worth trying to talk to someone else at CSA...we spoke to a lady called Angela Bennett.0

My husband also had a voluntary DEO. He requested to change to standing order and did so without any problems. As said previously, DO NOT PAY BY DIRECT DEBIT! They can basically take what they want!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0
