depending on your income, you may have to get your name taken off the other mortgage.0

If you are to remain on the joint mortgage and wanted to get a house for yourself then your income would need to be sufficient to cover both.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Have you spoken to a divorce lawyer who can advise you on the current situation with the house, for example, do you have children? What are the reasons for your wife remaining in the home? In a straightforward case, the house could be sold and any equity shared between you, but it's different if there are children involved. It may be worth forking out for half an hour with a lawyer/solicitor so that you know your rights.
I would say it will be almost impossible for you to buy another house until you know for sure what's happening with the one you have at the moment, unless you have loads of dosh.Forever I will sail towards the horizon with you0 -
You need to speak to a lawyer and finalise your divorce/separation and come to a final agreement with your ex as no one will want to touch you regarding mortgages.0
