We are in the process of buying a house we have employed a financial adviser to sort out our mortage. he gave us a mortage in principal based on our deposit roughly 60% of £200,000 we have now applied for a mortage of 88,000 with a 130,000 deposit with abbey and have been turned down, owing to an arears mark against my name from a catalouge company.
This arears was 11p and i was not even aware of it it is now paid and i have written to experian but the mortage adviser is saying that even if we take my name off the mortage and my hubby who is debt free and has had a mortage before might not get one, we are both concerned and i am panicking as we couldlose our property all for 11p.
My hubby is with the forces so has a steady job with no chance of redundancy and a good wage what can we do?

you could try explaining the rason to the provider. I was declined by a provider once due to missing one £17 mobile phone payment. I wrote them a letter explaining the reasons why declining me didnt make sense, and they then chaged there mind.0
