  • Thanks for this info! Will definitely save us money when we go. What about when we come back three days later -where can you buy the rambler ticket from? Can it be bought in advance or on the bus?
Before leaving Dublin Airport, go to the Dublin Bus kiosk to the left hand side of the exit door and buy a Family Rambler ticket, one day is 10 Euro, and this does you on the Airport Express service as well as buses in the city centre. You don't need to have children to be a family although the ticket does 2 adults and up to 4 children, for two adults this saves you 2 Euros and obviously more if you have children.

There is an office on O'Connell Street on the other side of the road where the bus will drop you off coming from the airport.

For a bargain trip to Dublin I bought 3 day rambler tickets in advance on line, and received tickets within 2 days in post. Big saving, and with whole of the city bus laned, good way to travel.

I don't think they do 3 day family rambler tickets unfortunately!

There are Rambler tickets and Family Rambler tickets. Rambler tickets are available for more than one day but only for one person whereas the Family Rambler ticket is only available as a one day ticket but does 2 adults and up to 4 children.

So if you are there for more than one day you can buy another Family Rambler ticket the next day for 10 Euros which will cover your return journey to the airport for 2 adults etc. The 3 day Rambler ticket does include airlink as well at Euros 13.30 per person. Or you could just buy a return airlink ticket for 10 Euros per person and not use the buses in the city centre. I'll leave you to do the maths depending on the number of people in your party and how many days you are staying.
