hi kit just read your diary. Like you I have spent most of this year unemployed, luckily I have a maternity cover role starting in a week. Really pleased but nervous at the same time.

How are things going now? Have you had an extension? Are you still applying for roles?

    Best of luck

    Hello

It has been a few weeks since I have posted - just not had the time. :rotfl:I am up at 6.15am and out by 7.20am and at work for 8 and getting back at about 6.35. Then like all busy people its cooking tea and washing up and packing the next days lunches and on it goes - please believe me - I am not complaining - I enjoy the fact that I am working and busy, I hate sitting around doing nothing. :j

I am still at the 'sick cover' temp job - but really not sure for how much longer as she has returned albeit on short hours at present, as she claims she is only 50% better, (either your better or not) however, there is whispering that she has been off so long she was not getting paid - now that she has stepped over the door she is back on full pay. There seems a lot of history there - too much to go into and I don't want to say too much - you never know who's reading - but its nice work if you can get it - for those that know what I mean! Sorry not much sympathy as I think none is needed. I am just thankful I have a job at present - shame she does not appreciate it as well. Its still tough out there.

I dread the day I will be one of the unemployed again wanting a job.

In the meantime my finances have been shot to hell before I started there. I had reached my overdraft before I started the job and so took on a Virgin card at 0% till December next year (not the perfect solution but better than high interest) so I now have had to add this to my sig and have taken a big step backwards in clearing my debt. :embarasse  I know its only a sticking plaster solution but I needed to do something. I now have to work out if I pay enough each month so its clear at the end month or save as much as I can to keep me going when I leave this job.

Have deceided to pay off the Goldfish card as much as possible in my remaining weeks there as is down to a couple of 100 and then put that towards the Virgin card - juggling thats all I ever seem to do. :wall:

Will continue to write as time goes by. Good luck to all that are becoming Debt Free and thanks for reading my scribbles.....

    Hello

Just been on line and arranged the payment for my capital one card for November as the statment came in the post this morning. :T I will be making a rounded up to the nearest £ minimum payment of £25 as this is at a very low rate and as its for life I have others that are much more pressing. I have arranged for it to go to them three weeks early as this will help to reduce the interest - not by much I know but every penny helps in this race.

I am still at my temp job :) and think I should be there for a couple more weeks at least until they decide what is going to happen with the returning person, so have decided to pay £50 from my wages each week (as a temp I get paid weekly) towards my goldfish card, so whilst on line I set the weekly payments. :cheesy: As this is now just under £200 it will be cleared by the end of next month. :A Which is such a lovely thought :heartpuls and just in time for Christmas. :j

I am really pleased about this resolve :D as by the end of November this will mean the demise of the Goldfish creditcard :T and will release what had previously been a payment of £50pm, :cheesy: also my lounge furniture has it's last payment (£38) this month  (Oct) and the bed (£42) has its last payment in November. So just in time for Christmas I will have an additional £130 :jwhich I can use in December for Xmas and then after that I will use it towards the Virgin credit card ;)

I have been busy this morning catching up with the housework and am desparate with itchy fingers to go and make a start to my christmas cards, a bit late this year so they will have to be a little less detailed than normal. :happyloveBut I enjoy doing them and my friends and family always lookforward to seeing what I have done this time. One dear friend has kept them all and every year gets them out, :smileyheaI have digitised the design for my sewing machine software and now have to sew them out and that is what takes the time, last year each one was over an hour and then I had to assemble them, but I got there just in time. :T

I am determined only to use things in my work room this year and not buy any additional supplied.:cool2: I am sure I will be able to stick to this challenge  as I have accumulated so many threads and bits of fabric that even if they are not all the same they will still be just as good.;) I also want to finish off my Merry Christmas & Happy New Year banner in appliqued letters. So off I go...:rotfl:

Will continue to write as time goes by. Good luck to all that are becoming Debt Free and thanks for reading my scribbles.....

:wave:Hello to anyone out there who stumbles across this.

I have not posted for ages mainly due to time :(. I am still working as a temp at the company that I went to in August 2009. Doing on average 42 hours so with this extra income I have been working REALLY hard on debt clearing and you can see from my updated sig, that I am down to the last :j credit :cheesy: card  - Virgin 0% til December - but I am throwing every spare penny at it and hope to clear in July this year (2010) :j rather than string it out.
I just want to be able to say they have all been paid off and I am :jDEBT FREE :j

Still saving my £2 coins - a habit that I will never get out of. :A

This year I hope to have an ISA and actually save some money - this be my new addiction - replacing the debt paying obsession that replaced the spending habit. :T

Today I opened a cash ISA :A and the money I used to pay debts will be put in there.:rotfl: My goal now is to see if I can reach the ISA limit before the end of the ISA year ....
