Birthday Present For The Dad Who Has Everything!!

Need some help (when dont I?)

It's my dad's birthday next week and I am feeling really guilty that I haven't got him a lot.

I asked him about a month ago what he wanted and he said a certain remote controlled spider (yes he is rather childish!) but I haven't been able to afford it due to bills and things this month

I've bought him a t-shirt and some of his favourite chocolates but what else can I do that's cheap?

I've got about £10 to spend and I need to be able to get it before Monday

Thanks in advance
:T

Hawkins Bazaar had a remote control spider on display the other day. Admittedly I don't know how much it is but I certainly wouldn't pay more than a tenner for it... I'll try look it up.

Edit: jeez, the one I was thinking of was £24.99!

But they also have this one at £12.99

Thanks for that one, but I really can't afford to spend more than £10. That one will be £17ish with delivery

    Erm, ok, 'dad' things...

What is he interested in? Gardening? Movies? There's some good ideas for hampers around somewhere on the boards.. so gardening would be like some gloves maybe in a bucket, with some seeds and a little spade thing (don't know the name sorry! lol)

Or movies would be a DVD and some popcorn etc..

Also (and I'm being an idiot now I know) it has to be easy to post, as I live in the midlands and dad lives in the North East.

Dad's into everything and anything, and he's one of these people that if he wants something, he goes out and buys it which is why it's a nightmare to buy him things for his birthday/christmas!

    Hi

Your post didn't come up as a new one earlier when I logged on. It's a shame that more people haven't replied to you so far, as I know there are some really creative people around (I'm just not one of them!).

Anyway, did you find something yet? Meant to ask, is it a special birthday?

Does he have any interests/hobbies? What about a magazine subscription? You can get them with Tesco points and there's some websites that do them fairly cheaply. The gift that keeps on giving you see ;)

Bump this up and hopefully someone can help you a bit more :)

I think a t-shirt and chocs is fine without buying anything else. My dad is 65 next month and I've made him an old age survival kit (contains funny things like marbles for when he loses his own), printed facts about the year he was born and popped them in a jar, framed a coin minted the year he was born, bought a CD of music from the year he was born and laminated the name to Mars certificate. Probably cost me less than a tenner but I know he'll love the presents :D. I'm not being a cheapskate, my dad like yours doesn't need anything and buys what he wants so is really hard to buy for.

No, not a special birthday. He will be 46. I don't have a Tesco near me so I don't do clubcard points.

Do you know, he'd probably love the name to Mars/Name a star thing, might try that! Thanks:T
