Filing for BR from outside UK

Ok I have realised I cant carry on!
I dont earn enough
So today I have cancelled all my DD to loans and credit cards
But ... I dont live in UK
I cant get back to UK unless somebody lends me the air fare; highly unlikely right now
So what happens next
I have contacted a couple of my creditors asking to reduce payments, giving them all my details but they have done nothing and I cant afford to keep phoning them from abroad so I have just cancelled the DDs today.
I even had my small wages paid into my friends bank account this month as my own bank account will be frozen very soon when the last remaining money comes out and goes over my overdraft limit.
What should I do next?
What will happen?

Sorry for clarification I work in real estate abroad for a UK based company so my wages are paid into a Uk bank account0

I know some people may disagree, but couldn't you just stop paying them? As you're not in the UK you're out of their reach I would have thought, and then when you do return to the UK just file for BK then?0

I just wanted to make sure everything was legally done
I have been living abroad for 12 months nearly
I know I have 3 years to file for BR0 -
Can I continue to have my wages paid into a family members bank account, I have a spare cash card for the account which they gave me so I can withdraw my wages and only my wages out, for my rent and bills.
Can I continue to do this ? Do I have to tell OR this?
Will he want to see my cousin's bank account/statements confirming my wages are going in there?
Or as I live abroad can I say I get paid cash? which sometimes I do if there is enough money in the office to pay me in cash.
Will they contact my employer ? I think I would lose my job if they found out I was BR?
Please help - thanks0 -
It is possible to file for BR from overseas but I have a feeling that at some point you have to come back and deal with things in person.
There have been threads on here before about it - or check out the Insolvency website.
As for stopping paying - whilstever you have a UK bank account and your salary is paid into it, you are vulnerable. Particularly if your bank is one of your creditors, be it due to an overdraft or credit card.
I wonder if you can set up a Debt Management Plan from where you are.........?0 -
The "official" word here

Thanks Got to Change, I have contacted my creditors, they say OK leave it with us we will call you back and they dont, then they take the usual payment out even after agreeing on the phone the reduced payments, but I cant keep phoning them it costs too much money.
Yes my bank will be one of my creditors.
My cousin is aware of my situation and kindly offered her spare account to me as I now my own bank account will be frozen very soon.
So this month my wages were paid into my cousins account and I have the spare card here so I have been able to take out my wages and pay my rent and bills etc. I dont have much spare cash left but this has helped enormously; in fact it was brilliant the first time ever I am actually only living off my wages.
But can this arrangement continue?
Will the OR want to see the account where the wages are being paid into?
Does anybody know?0 -
Thanks, I have read all the info on http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedom...eignissues.htm
I understand what I have to do
just concerned about my wages and my cousins bank account having to be declared to the OR,0 -
I know I have posted this elsewhere but have not yet really rec'd a reply I understand so bumping my question back up.
I am going BR maybe october if I can get back to UK and can afford to pay to go BR.
From this month my wages have been paid into a family members bank account. I have a cash card for this account here so I can take out my wages in cash and pay my rent and bills.
my own UK bank account will be frozen shortly so a kind family member offered help which I have taken.
Now the question can I continue to do this even after going BR and will the OR then investigate or need to see that account?
Thanks0 -
Shouldnt be a problem using a family members account as long as they're ok with it....the OR "might" question where your wages are paid to...BUT wont be allowed to touch someone elses accounts...We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
