Mortgage admin fees for changes

hi everyone

my mortgage company is trying to charge me a £25 admin fee because my house insurance provider has changed (it actually hasnt but i had to cancel and start a new policy as my renewal was double the cost of a new one) can i not pay this, claim it back??

    No. The charge is considered fair and valid.

    Its a very old charge and it is a bit out of date to still levy it (most dont nowadays) but the principle of it is fair as you are paying for work that needs to be done.

    So it has changed then. Premium will not be the only change. The levels of cover and the policy conditions will differ. It is no uncommon for lenders to refuse certain insurances from a provider but accept others.
