CCJs and Experian

I have been in the process of working through all three of my credit reports with a fine tooth comb in order to improve my credit and have recently found an unsatisfied CCJ against me which is showing on my Equifax report. After contacting the court I have found out that the CCJ was issued in 2004 in relation to £300 worth of unpaid tuition fees from the short time I spent at university. Quite annoying as I moved out of my student house shortly after quitting uni and simply forgot all about the fees I owed!

What I need to know, if anyone has the answer, is why the County Court Judgement is only showing on my Equifax credit report and not on my Experian or Call Credit files? Could Experian and Call Credit still have the details of the judgement but just not showing it on my reports? I am debating whether to refrain from applying for credit until next September when it will be 6 years from date that the CCJ was issued. My other options are to either argue that the university did not try and track me down at my parents address and therefore didn't take reasonable steps to recover the money (if this goes wrong it will be on my report for another 6 years), or simply pay the default balance and get the CCJ satisfied.

If anyone has any advice on what would be the best course of action I would greatly appreciate it.......once again a mistake when I was younger has come back to bite me in the bum!!
