For 2 children the basic element is about £45 a month.... if you get over this you should get one if you are getting CTC.
Help with health costs and refund of travel costs to hospital for NHS treatment225
Some clients on low incomes and in receipt of CTC and/or WTC will be entitled to help with health costs, for example, free prescriptions, free dental treatment and free sight tests. A client will only be entitled to help with her/his health costs if s/he has a gross annual income of £15,276 or less (£15,050 in Scotland) and s/he is in receipt of:-- WTC and CTC; or
- WTC and s/he is eligible for a disability element or severe disability element; or
- CTC and s/he is not entitled to WTC. This might be, for example, because s/he does not work, or works fewer than 16 hours per week.
226
A client who is entitled to help with health costs will be sent an NHS tax credit exemption certificate by the NHS Business Services Authority, although this may be up to eight weeks after s/he receives her/his tax credits award. This certificate will usually be valid for twelve months.227If a client has not yet received her/his award notice and does not have an old certificate, s/he can sign the treatment form to say that s/he is entitled to help with health costs, but her/his claim may later be checked. Alternatively, s/he can pay and claim a refund within three months, but s/he must obtain an NHS receipt at the time of payment.228The contact details are:-
