When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D

Its OHs birthday so today wont be over money saving I'm afraid. I got his present the other week though. He is having a sleep in too, I got up with DS at 6.30!
    - give him birthday biscuits DS made for him
    - give him card DS made for him
    - make him a cake later
    - were going to pub with a couple of friends tonight, try not to drink too much
    - got to take van in for a repair, but found somewhere much cheaper than the dealer quoted
    - not sure if I am getting hair done yet or if I am cancelling it due to not feeling 100% and maybe no childcare
    - depends if I get my hair done if I can get any declutterring done
    - pay nursery bill, they will be striking him off at this rate
    - phone for my old mob number transferring onto new phone

    Good morning everyone

Candy - thanks for starting the thread
Dizzydebs - that's brilliant news. The next thing to do is to re-set your budgeet so that you save a bit everymonth so that next year you won't have to rely on the CC. Well done again!

I've been really busy so don't have much time to post but I am on a day off today. Although I won't be getting much done - even relaxing, as I have an interview this afternoon! Keep it all crossed for me.

    My list for today
    • Read through presentation one last time and then save onto memory stick
    • Print off presentation and expenses form
    • Leave in good time for hte interview - I'd rather be an hour early rather than 10 mins late
    • Treat myself with a short wander around central London window shopping
    • Call potential lodgers who have left me a message
    • See if OH wants to go out for dinner - using a voucher of course
    • Treat myself to a home facial using stuff from stores
    • Have a quick tidy to keep the place looking nice
    • Catch up with ironing - at least enough to last the rest of the week at work.
    • Washing HC
    Have a great day

    Morning all!
hope you don't mind me posting on your thread but it does help to focus my mind and keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Today I have/will:
    1. Taken sandwiches to work and ensured that OH took his too.
    2. Posted cheque to bank instead of driving to town at lunchtime to pay it in
    3. Chased up eBay buyer. Why bid and not pay!??
    4. Transferred paypal pot into savings account
    5. Will pick some blackberries at lunchtime
    6. posted a couple of amazon and eBay purchases

Nice to see you all! Have a great day!
    Overpay!
