Hi
If anyone comes knowcking at your door, tell them to leave and if they do not, call the police and tell them there are strangers threatening you on your doorstep. They have the same rights as a paperboy.
What you do need to be aware of is that IF they are stupid enough to take legal action, they could win if you do not defend the case. Your only defence is that the debt is statute barred and that is enough to kill the case, but occcasionally people think that the fact that the debt is staute barred is enough. It is as long as you tell the court.
And if they were that stupid, report them to the OFT. At least one DCA is in special measures for pursuing statute barred cases. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks for that.
So, if I do recieve any further corres[pndence do I need to send a response just to cover myself?0 -
For an overview of how debts are affected by the Limitation Act, and a template letter, click on the following NDL link:

Send the letter registered post so that you know when they recieved it.
