1) when you eneter your details in there, does the result ever say you should opt for BR or does it always calculate a repayment scale no matter how ridiculous?
2) anybody know how to track down a debt if the bank have closed the account but have no idea where they passed it onto?!
3) I was told about how your name is only put in the local paper if it is in the interests of that vicinity i.e for businesses who are owned money- is this true in reality?
4) Should I close my existing bank account which is in no diffilculties, no overdrafts etc and sort myself out a BR approved card so it has my salary going in and none of my repayments to creditors? and direct debits? note I havent filled the BR forms in yet.
5) do you get to keep ebay accounts and paypal and phone contracts if you are update and have no debts to them?
I am sure more questions will follow.
Thanks as always everyone!

it will suggest the best option available for you regarding your circumstance and financial affair. you could alwasy ring also the national debtline they are equally good.
2) anybody know how to track down a debt if the bank have closed the account but have no idea where they passed it onto?!
you could always ask a copy of your credit reference it will show to whom you owe money
3) I was told about how your name is only put in the local paper if it is in the interests of that vicinity i.e for businesses who are owned money- is this true in reality?
yes so if you forgot one creditor, it gave them a chance to contact your OR by a date to have any claim on your Br estate
4) Should I close my existing bank account which is in no diffilculties, no overdrafts etc and sort myself out a BR approved card so it has my salary going in and none of my repayments to creditors? and direct debits? note I havent filled the BR forms in yet.
there is 2 account available for undischarged br THE CO-OP and Barclays.
5) do you get to keep ebay accounts and paypal and phone contracts if you are update and have no debts to them?
i dont know about e-bay and paypal account ...... diont forget that once you declared BR you are giving away any claim in regard to your asset unless the OR said he has no interest.
I am sure more questions will follow.

thankyou,
reagrding my second point, I have done two credit reports with experian and equifax and neither of them have all of my debts listed, and in fact they both have quite substantial emissions. Of course, this doesnt mean I have forgotten them and I have tracked all of my debts bar one, but regarding my credit file, if they are not on there now, will it mean that my credit file will only improve even quicker after bankruptcy because some of the debts were never listed to begin with?......
Hope that makes sense0 -
3) I think what you are refering to is that the advice has recently changed and only exceptional cases are now put in the local paper (all cases still go in the London Gazzette). Exceptional cases? it is down to the discression of the OR, but think people who do not surrender to proceedings, or get their bankruptcy annulled etcHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
1) when you eneter your details in there, does the result ever say you should opt for BR or does it always calculate a repayment scale no matter how ridiculous? Yes, it will suggest BR but it will depend on figures you have put in.
2) anybody know how to track down a debt if the bank have closed the account but have no idea where they passed it onto?! It might be that the CC/loan co/DCA don't report to the CRA's not all of them do. If you don't put anything down and they come after you at a later date and it is a proveable debt from before your BR date then it will be included in the BR. So don't panic if you miss one out.
3) I was told about how your name is only put in the local paper if it is in the interests of that vicinity i.e for businesses who are owned money- is this true in reality? As Debtinfo says.
4) Should I close my existing bank account which is in no diffilculties, no overdrafts etc and sort myself out a BR approved card so it has my salary going in and none of my repayments to creditors? and direct debits? note I havent filled the BR forms in yet. You can open the account ready if you want and then transfer DD's, wages etc. over just before you go BR. The Co-op Cashminder and Barclays Cash account are the 2 BR friendly accounts.
5) do you get to keep ebay accounts and paypal and phone contracts if you are update and have no debts to them? The OR is not interested in these if it is just your own things you are selling, as long as you are not buying stuff to sell on Ebay you will be fine.
I am sure more questions will follow.
Thanks as always everyone!
