Parking a bicycle in Belfast overnight

Can anyone suggest a 'reasonably' safe place to leave my bike overnight close to Bfast city centre?

Its not worth much, but obviously I'd prefer not to have it stolen!

Tough one. I used to park a bike in some of the multistorey car parks in the city centre for free. Not official bike parking, but if you ask the attendant nicely you might be lucky. And then it would be secure and under (at least some) supervision.

    Thanks Estella.

I'm planning on commuting via bus to the city centre then doing the last leg on bike.

Might be an obvious point I'm missing, but why do you need a bike if you are getting a bus into town? It's not like Belfast city centre is huge. You can walk from one side to the other in about 10 - 15 mins.

Fair enough point. That would explain it then!

You can see an official list of bike parking in Belfast HERE, but I'm not sure any of those are all that suitable for overnight use.

Some more info on the Travelwise website also.

You could also ask Translink about parking the bike overnight. They might surprise us and do something worthwhile for once.

Phone the police and ask them - seriously! They should be able to give some good advice. Also there might be mileage in talking to some of the shopmobility venues. They hire out scooters and wheelchairs for people so they can get around the shops. They obviously have storage already and their job is to help people that find walking distances difficult so you might be able to convince them to help.

Would also second the multi storey option. the place behind the cinema on dublin road used to offer free or very very cheap motor cycle parking (like 50p) - try them.
