Might be a stupid question...but

Do i have to inform the OR that i have opened a new basic bank account, i've been BR about a month now and the OR doesn't need to interview me, he has said this via letter, just wondered if i should tell him of the Co-op cashminder account i have just opened?

No, I don't believe so. I haven't. Any account you open after BR is your own.
Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you. :p

States on the insolvency website and in one of their booklets ( can't remember which one, have read so many!!), there is no need to inform them of any accounts you open post BR...

Unless you are loading it full of undeclared cash.....!

You don't need to tell him/her about your basic account. It's a very stong possibility that the OR already knows or will know about your basic account. As a matter of fact, you need some account to allow your money to be transferred into.
