Hello

I have been asked to do a wedding brekkie/brunch on the morning of my sisters wedding. I am thinking of sticking traditional and doing a full english or eggs benedict, a breakfast muffin and loads of tea and coffee. It is for 12 adults and 4 children. Think that will hopefully cover all.

I remember seeing nigella lawson making a brekkie drink and I seem to remember it was orange juice, grapefruit juice and grenadine. Does anyone else remember this? If not, would love some ideas on a quick, cheap and easy breakfast drink as an alternative to tea and coffee. If you have any suggestions for brekkie too that would be fab!

You can find Nigella's recipe here I would go for a selection of drinks as to give people a choice. Alternatively have a look a this website which has lots of great breakfast ideas including drinks:

smoked salmon and eggs or the eggs benedict sound good to me, i think the fry up might be a but much (for you and the guests) on my wedding day i i ate a bit of a bagel with smoked cheese and slamon on and some bucks fizz :)

I wouldn't go ott with the coffee or tea either, all the guests will be lining up for the loo instead of the piccys!

    Hello

After being asked to make a wedding brekkie/brunch for my sisters wedding, I have decided to go for a buffet style (thanks for the advice fellow moneysavers).

    Danish pastries
    Blueberry muffins
    Variety of jams
    Toast
    Bacon
    Scrambled eggs
    Sliced smoked salmon
    Savoury muffins/bagels.

I have never made pastries before. Does anyone have good, scrummy receipes that can be frozen. Also looking for muffin receipes that can also be frozen.

    Can anyone help please?

Lots of muffin recipes here. As this has fallen from the front page of OS I'll add it to your existing thread ;)

The very best way to eat smoked salmon is on soda bread, buttered. My son (12) and I were just reading through this and he said I should post this hah! You can buy the soda bread from anywhere and it's about a quid and you cut it into either triangles or two-bite sized bits for ease.

Also, for the scrambled eggs you can put salmon actually through it when it's cooked. For this I use the salmon off-cuts you get for under a quid a pack, it'll work a treat.

    Hi Pink-Winged

Your link to Nigella Lawson's breakfast type juice is not working. Do you know where else I can find it.

I remember watching it on tv, but can't remember the exact ingredients, but remember it was orange juice based and was a vibrant colour perfect for a breakfast juice.

    Thanks

  • I think you're very adventurous for such a busy day! I personally would only do things that didn't need cooking on the day so I didn't get hot and bothered on such a special occasion.... I'd be round at Sainsburys early for freshly baked bagels first thing (actually I'd send someone else!), and do them with cream cheese, with smoked salmon on top for those who like it. I'd also bake some muffins and freeze in advance, then warm through on the day. Bucks Fizz and Nigella's drink plus tea and coffee.

Whoops! The website got caught by MSE's swear filter. :o

I would post the recipe but can't for copyright reasons so the link to the recipe is:
