i had a baliff at the door today when i got home and gave me a letter saying i have 24hrs to pay £460 quid or the levy and take goods ( thye havent levied any goods as i havent let them in)
i phoned the baliffs to see if i could arrange a payment schedule they siad they wernt willing to do it and i should contact the court ( where the fine is from) i did this and they said that they couldnt make any agreements becasue it had gone to the baliffs
im afraid they'll send me to prison ive already been once due to another fine that i couldnt pay any know how i can get any help im only on benefits and 460 pounds is a hell of a lot of money

What is the debt for?
Might be worth trying to arrange a repayment schedule by letter rather than over the phone - this will at least show a willingness to pay.
Have you done a SOA to see how much you have available to pay towards your debts?

If you do indeed have a TV licence then it would be registered against your address - have you tried contacting TV Licensing to check their records?
Have you tried contacting the court - there must be a number to ring to arrange payments?
Make sure you keep written records of all calls you make.
If you sort this out, then get on to a debt counselling firm eg CCCS as soon as you can to sort out your financial problems so this doesn't happen again. One life - your life - live it!0 -
